This souvenir spoon is from Schloss Schwanstein or Schloss Neuschwanstein. It translates as new swan stone palace and was built by Ludwig II in southwest Bavaria in the late 19th century. It was built as a tribute to Richard Wagner and was closed to the public until after his death. Now it is one of the most visited sites in Germany.
The spoon is silverplate with an enameled rendition of the castle at the top. The bowl is plain and the stem has a row of caviar beading leading to a stylized flower or swan? This is quite an old spoon in excellent condition. It was made in Holland and has a coat of arms mark on the back.
